There are days when the kitchen seems like the most crammed up place in the whole house. It has every reason to be. The spice caddies, the appliances, the grains. The list can go on and on. But what we have here is the best storage hack for your kitchen to appear more organized:
Yep, you read that right.
Storage containers may just look like ordinary plastic boxes with different locking mechanisms and colors. The truth is, the varying sizes and shapes of these containers, along with the type of closure they have, gives them different purposes. That is how there is a different container for every item in the kitchen. Let’s explore how they can make great space savers:
Pasta, like rice, is a staple in most meals whether for adults or children. All households have packages upon packages of different kinds of pasta stored in the pantry. From spaghetti to egg noodles, to lasagne strips, no grocery trip is complete without them.
A practical storage tip is to get rid of all that packaging and store the pasta in a plastic container that is long and slender. Be it a horizontal box or vertical, cylindrical or rectangular, pasta does not just look neat but attractive also in these containers. A perk of using elongated horizontal containers is that they can be stacked easily too.
Cereal boxes are highly inconvenient to handle and maintain. A must for breakfast in most homes, cereal boxes quickly begin looking shabby and the cereal loses its freshness soon after the seal is broken.
The easiest solution is to have airtight, easy-pour containers at hand. They make for lovely décor on your breakfast table, or kitchen counter with the colors and shapes of the cereal showing through their transparent body. And they keep the cereal fresh and make it easy for children also to pour the cereal out.
Our cooking is incomplete without recipe mixes. We sometimes need to dedicate entire cabinets to boxes of qorma, biryani, and nihari recipe mixes. Surprisingly, little storage jars are an easy solution to this problem too. Spice caddies are another great solution to saving space while preserving recipe mixes.
Dessert boxes are usually packaged in big square cardboard boxes. These boxes are difficult to store because of their size and shape. Maintaining them in airtight plastic or glass jars is always a good idea to retain their freshness and can also be stacked away conveniently.
5- DON’T FORGET TO LABEL YOUR JARS AND CONTAINERS!
While organizing your kitchen using these tips, don’t forget to label these jars and containers. Another good idea is to mention how much each container holds in grams etc.
You could always measure out how much of a product is used to prepare a dish. If one pack of recipe mix contains 75 grams which is around 6 tablespoons, you can mention that on the label as well.
We are quite sure that your kitchen will feel spacious and look quite picturesque once you use our organization tips.
